Brookhaven, as it’s known today, began developing in 1910, designed to be a preeminent enclave for the ultra-wealthy and affluent. Brookhaven is conveniently located along the commuter corridor of Peachtree Road, which leads straight into the best and brightest facilities for dining and shopping in Buckhead. The community is ten minutes from massive, upscale malls like Lenox Square and Phipps Plaza, where visitors can browse high-end designers like Balenciaga, Armani, Versace, Valentino, and Michael Kors. Other fashionistas might choose to head to the renowned and highly walkable Buckhead Village, whose upscale boutiques and trendy restaurants never fail to delight. 

While Brookhaven is just a stone’s throw away from the dining of Buckhead, the town also has its own bevy of enviable restaurants from which hungry diners can choose. Cozy and lavish all at once, Haven Restaurant and Bar brings an upscale pizazz to the typical neighborhood eatery, and here the menu of delectable chef-driven, New American fare is often best enjoyed out on the fairy light-lined patio. Across the street, J. Christopher’s is the breakfast joint of choice for many locals, beloved for their ever-friendly hospitality and decadent morning dishes.

The beauty of Brookhaven isn’t limited to the vibrant landscapes of its grand escapes — the town is also replete with plenty of public green spaces and parks. Murphy Candler Park, for example, is minutes from the town’s center and offers up 135-acres of enchanting mixed-use recreation space for visitors to explore. 

The smaller but equally fun Ashford Park houses several sports amenities as well as a community center. At the 51-acre Blackburn Park, visitors can make use of the lighted tennis courts, scenic walking trails, sports fields, and community garden.

Brookhaven residents love participating in local events, and the Taste of Brookhaven is perhaps the most anticipated celebration of the town. This special affair brings together more than 15 of Brookhaven’s wonderful restaurants to give attendees a sampling of spectacular cuisine, which visitors can dig into while listening to live music performances.
